Entire Town Inside One Building

Whittier, Alaska isn’t the average small town: it’s only accessible by a miles-long tunnel with limited hours and 95% of the population lives together in the Begich Towers, a giant apartment building where kids also attend school. Erika Thompson has lived in Whittier for five years and she’s a school teacher. In this video Ericka shares with us her own personal experience of living and working in this particular place. “It’s like coming to school with mom, they call me mom half the time anyway” Erika says. She’s a very inspiring lady and a great example of how attitude and outlook can change your circumstances.
